I'm the Director of Web Communication & Strategic Projects at the
State University of New York at New Paltz. I've worked there for nearly 12 years, originally as the college's first Web Editor, then their Web Coordinator, and have been in my current position for four years.
My job, as you can probably tell from my title, is a bit of a catch all. I supervise the
Web Management Office staff, which includes two Web Developers. I am responsible for our overall online strategy, new Web initiatives, and use of social media. I work closely with the Director of On Campus Recruitment in the Office of Undergraduate Admission on eRecruiting initiatives.
I manage the college's
Welcome Center and the student staff that work there, and managed the first two years of the college's new
Distinguished Speakers Series for the President's office.
I'm my "spare" time, I lead the college's
emergency communication planning, training, and implementation efforts.
I will earn my
MBA concentrating in marketing and management from the State University of New York at New Paltz in December 2009. I have my bachelors degree in organizational communication with a minor in marketing from the same college. In the summer of 2008 I did an independent study research project on the use of social media in higher education and
published my paper on .eduGuru.
